Category: Let's talk
I watched some show and it was all about a religious group. This group had a leader and he was brain washing all this children. He told them that colored people were bad and what more he chose one to marry and make as many children, at the age of 16 or older. The children were not allowed to have contact with other children outside their religion and they were not allowed to show there emotions. I think its disturbing because that prophet or whatsoever is using religion to brain wash and rape this children. I really don’t agree with this one.
well cults are not as uncommon as one might think. And it's not always children who fall victim to these. to a degree, the suecide bombers who carried out the attacks on london recently would have been members of a cult, an extreme islamic cult who would have told them that only by killing themselves in the name of ala would they gain absolution. I recently listened to an interview on the bbc, given by a guy who has now started his own anti-cult organization, he became a member of a cult when he went on a "quit smoking" course, and by the end of the 4 day course, he had been so brain washed, that he quit his job, sold his house, and signed over all his money to this organization, and he was a 33 year old, reputable businessman. So it's not always the weak and vulnerable who fall victim, it has to do with the techniques that are used in order to "brainwash" individuals into believing what they are signing up to is the right, and only solution.
Dont they all isnt a priest instiling the fear of hell in catholic children, brainwashing them into behaving ..it happens constantly in religion ..which is after all a form of mind and soul control...
friends, most of the suiciders, and such people are drugged somehow, and they can't think healthy. so they even can't understand their fault
I think, to believe a religion should be in heart and mind, it doesn't matter for anybody else.
love ya!
I was brainwashed once when I was a child. I went to Bible camp, and by the end of a week, I was convinced I had to preech like a Jehovas Witness, and save all my friends and family. Well it took my mum a long time to undo the damage, and that's probably why I got turned off Christianity. i knnow not all Christians are diehard religion pushers, and that wasn't my only reason for exploring religious alternatives, but it was a big part of it. Anyone can be brainwashed, but I guess children are the easiest because they are so impressionable.
chesbridge I hear what you're saying that the people who are brainwashed into doing what they do aren't in control of their minds, and that's absolutely right, invariably they're not drugged though, the bombers who carried out the attacks on the underground on july 7th were very much normal and were standing have a conversation on kings cross station before they went and blew themselves and 54 innocent people up. and while I concur that people like that are often controlled by others, the people who have brainwashed them very much know what they're doing.
Hey SB, Exceptions ddon't brake the facts, but already you can understand that some radicals are doing those merders by hoping they do something for God, but I'm sure, anyway, in any case, god wouldn't want people to kill each other, besides, of course, I heard at news that the normal people did the merder in London, but they were forced to do it, becase if they wouldn't, they were killed by the other radicals. I hate radicals, religion should be in mind and heart, this cannot be changed by anyone else. When God judges me, you won't be asked what I did on the earth.
Love you all people
Chessbridge you are absolutely right..I think the religious brainwashing of innocent children, is disgusting, what kind of twisted society, would allow this to happen, then refuse to intervene..
friends, you should have seen, if a nation or most of a nation is brainwashed, that nation or the part of the nation had become backward. if somebody doesn't want to be human, nobody can make him or her human. I like a word of dear Martin Luter, "we learnt swimming like fishes, and we will learn flying like birds... but we will never learn living like human" I think, he meant these happening disgusting things. Because, I can't think that such a person Martin Luter had thought that everyone on the earth should be blamed. and Gablin, thank you, we all need to think positive, and fight for favour of humanity.
Your right but what if as it seems now humanity is destinded to destroy itself..Maybe M.L was suggesting that until we are capable of answering the age old question, what does it mean to be human..we will never be able to accept ourselves and live together..I think some of the problem stems from the fact that many people are incapable of facing the truth about themselves and their lives ect...they are unable to handle seeing their faults displayed in others...
Humanity is frought with greed, lust, selfishness, and hunger for power over and control of others. In my next life, I want to be a dog. lol
Friends, my sixteen year old mind says that unles rich wants to be richer, and unless they change their mind destroying the humanic facts, (of course I don't have a problem with rich people, you already know what I mean) this problem will always be waiting for us. and now, if we are more socialized, and, arange our minds more aesthetic and if we aducate our minds for getting what we deserve, everything will be ok. yes, of course ten people can't remove all the dirts, but, if ten people tell this to ten people, and each one tells ten people, and if we convince half of them that this is true, then everything will be really ok. we can't get a positive result thinking negative and accepting the negativities, and yes, if you will be dog in your next life, I will avoid being a cat lol (I know a terrible joke)
Love you people
ok. I think brainwashing children is bad. I was brainwashed, and still allow myself to at times. I remeber when I was 12 it was the worst case of brainwashing I've ever endured. anyway see yawl later
Karrie
RD's Cheesbridge and Gummybear you are absolutely right..excuse the minimalist answer I'm hungover..
yes Gablin, with these words you are right too lol *laughing*
How difficult is it to brainwash people? I'm saying this because I hear people use the word a lot nowadays and I wonder if we're really talking about brainwashing or something different?
Brainwashing is, in the meaning of that we talking about is: to try to make people, especially children believe something or a religion without giving any educational or fact information. These brainwashers usually want to gain fighters with them. So, for them, to gain one more fighter is more important to tell them the true facts. usually they aim to create a ideological side, and they try to make as many people as they can.
I hope I could tell exacly.
There is no doubt that it is wrong to brainwash people with religion. However, unfortunately there is no law protecting people from the abuse of their minds brainwashers wish to be responsible for. It needs to be made a crime to brainwash someone with a very severe sentence for those found guilty. It won't happen in America because the republican party is full of Jesus Freaks! Basically, people who have a problem with brainwashing need to draw attention to it and promote their views making themselves heard by grabbing headlines. Only then will something be done.
Brainwhasing is highly effective if the audience is receptive..in the case of Al Qeada, who exploit the simmering anger in the name of Allah, its incredibly easy..another good example is David Koresh..he just exhausted his victims until they were ready to practically skin themselves alive, just so hew would relent and allow them to sleep!...it is fundamentally a form of psychological torture and abuse, for that thankfully there is a law....
Goblin I like your thoughts and explainations, you are expressing the best thought we try to express *shakes hand* and, as always I want to repeat, I'm not against religious education, but this shouldn't be forced, it should depend on children's choice, and it should be done after 12-14 age, because this allows them to choose best for themselves. and true_17, you did a nice favour opening this subject, because this gives us a possibility to widen our thoughts about children's bad usage and what to do to prevent.
thanks all people, I love you all
You guys make it sound as if brainwashing is easy and very common. Now, when I think of brainwashing, I think of a very secret underground process where people are programmed to, let's say, be assasins against their will. A willing audience cannot be brainwashed because they already basically think the way the religious leader wants them to and they're just brought more into focus. Don't a lot of religious leaders and politicians just play upon people's fears or suspicions? That to me does not seem like brainwashing.
of course brainwashing is hard if it is done to a thirty year old men, but we talk about little children who are between 7 and 12
It's not very common, but brainwashing isn't underground either. It's more often than not a failiar and so it doesn't get publicised
Chessbridge thank you..that's quite a grip..:}. I agree.Brainwashing children is a doddle, as they are too young to really know their own minds. The very worst kind of exploitation is committed by the Jehovas witness cult..I have met so many damaged young people, who were heavily indoctrinated from a young age ..due to their parents suffering the same fate..That type of intensive religious education makes me sick.
.................
Labyrinth last night on the 10 oclock news they showed this disturbing film by Al Qaeda, who were happily showing off their foregin recruits, a message from Al Qaeda was simultaneously translated from Arabic. The AQ member, an Australian, was actively asking others to join up.The content of his message was disturbing, exploitative, and seemed to me to be a form of sensationalism while playing on the fears of young foreign muslims. If this group are recruiting forgein nationals to commit acts of terror they will be using brainwashing.AQ are famous for it.After all, how do you inspire a 20 yr old man to blow himself up.He must need to be heavily indoctrinated to eliminate any doubbts concerning his own fear of pain or being caught ect otherwise the act would be impossible in his mind.
I do think there needs to be some predisposition to being brainwashed, some other circumstances, like extreme emotional states already existing. That being said, ever notice how *most* people who are raised with a particular religion remain within that religion? Wonder why that is? And statistically, children tend to share similar political views with their parents, wonder why that is? If someone is exposed to only one view, only one side of something, for a long time, and especially at an early age, it becomes harder and harder to break that training and undo those belief systems. The stronger you believe something and the more stake you've put into that belief, the more likely you are to try to hold onto that belief as long as you can.
Also, people are influenced most by the people who are close to them. It takes a strong person to undo the effects of such influence.
1800.I think this loyalty to religion, if I can call it that, is due to a need to belong, to feel safe and understood....
The children hmm that seems more like generalising rather than an fact. Children will be influenced early on ..but as they gain more awareness of their own world, they will also realise the folly of believing politicians and begin to form their own political belief system. The parroting of the parents viewpoint, is more likely to occur, if 1 or both parents, are especially dominant towards the child during it's formative years..
when people prefer reading book to listening and believing, probably more original and better sollutions will be produced for people and there won't be needed brainwashing. Children are the most proper ones to form a pre-community for ideological and religious systems. so for a moment ago, we should teach ourselves to be objective.
I agree whole-heartedly with the last two posts. More reading and absorbing, and more thinking for ourselves. And definitely, it depends; I was just saying what I've heard that statistically happens. Statistics are always generalizations. The great thing about them is that they're not true for every member of the population, and you can't just assume something is true for an individual of a statistical category just because the numbers say so.
